Daisy, the West Highland terrier, loves her daily walks in the park, but today she's even more excited than usual. She and her mum will visit their elderly neighbour, Mrs C, for afternoon tea! Mum can't wait for a unique, fun outing with her favourite furry companion.
When they arrive at Mrs C's house, Daisy is overwhelmed by all the delicious smells from the kitchen. Mrs C has prepared all sorts of treats - scones with clotted cream and homemade jam, finger sandwiches with different fillings, mini cakes, and lots of tasty doggy biscuits! She carefully places everything on a beautiful table with a giant teapot before inviting Daisy and her mum to join her.
The trio sit down for what turns out to be a delightful afternoon. Mum and Mrs C discuss all sorts of things - from travel plans to family news - while enjoying their high tea feast. As they chat happily, Daisy munches on some doggy biscuits and looks around the charming garden for Mr Robin – it's such a lovely day outside!
Mrs C then brings out her photo album full of old family photos from growing up in Co.Down N. Ireland. She shows them pictures of herself as a young woman standing proudly in front of Hillsborough castle or posing with family on holiday in Lake Garda - the largest lake in Italy
Mrs C has had so many amazing adventures throughout her life - which makes Daisy feel even more inspired to explore more of the countryside with mum!
Afternoon tea with Mrs C was one of Daisy's most memorable experiences yet! Not only did she get to eat plenty of yummy treats (including doggy biscuits!), but she also got to spend quality time getting to know someone who has seen some incredible things during their lifetime. It just goes to show that sometimes it's worth stepping away from our regular routine every now and then to appreciate something new – especially if it involves delicious food and great company like tea with Mrs C! :)
